after the usual opening exercises and the reading of the minutes of the previous meeting the following PETITIONS were read W S stone and th uty other residents af lynno solicited the council to repair and put in passable condition the street running south from bingham fort lane along the U N R R to brooms bench as a portion of said street is in a very bad condition which if remedied would greatly accommodate the people in that part of the city on motion of alderman dee the matter was referred to Committee on streets with the suggestion that they confer with the railroad authorities to sec if they can obtain their coop co op aeration in this matter as their road runs through the street in question E yount A co represented that they had sold out their auction and secondhand second hand store business to W P jones they therefore petitioned that the unused portion of their li cense be transferred to W P jones on of alderman rie tho license was ordered to be transferred A petition was read from the fourth of july celebration finance committee asking the council for an appropriation towards paying the expenses of that occasion on motion of councilor driver an ap of waa made for that purpose V M C silva and other residents and business men residing and doing business on the cast side of main between third and fourth streets asked that property owners 1 requested to improve the
