Show WILSON LANE HAS A SMALL BLAZE The hired man has been sleeping In tho barn, he 'smokes and had matches in his clothes; ihe small boy goes to the barn to obtain matches; soon afterward tho barn goes up in flames. That is the story of the origin orig-in of a fire in George M. James barn at Xo 10 Wilson Lane. The barn was dry and it was well filled with hay. so that when the match was touched, the place burned like tinaer. The flro was well under way before It was observed and so near destruction was it when Chief Canfield reached the scene it was impossible im-possible to save the building. The fight was made to save the other buildings on the premises, which was accomplished. There is no water hydrant at Wilson Wil-son Lane and the only means of fighting fight-ing the fire was with chemicals The loss is estimated at about $200, tho property destroyed being the barn, a few tons of hay, a harness and some bedding. |
