Show The Ixguna has lately been equipped with a 75-foot steel gallows frame, ore blns of large capacity and a 150-horsepower 150-horsepower electric hoist. The deepest deep-est work in the Red Top vein from the main Red Top shaft has been at less than 400 feel, A lateral was driven driv-en some time ago from the Clermont workings on the 600-foot level in this direction and a large body of excellent ex-cellent ore was exposed In the Rod Top vein near the Laguna It was for the purpose of developing this vein and hoisting ore from thin deposit that the Iagnna shaft wns further sunk to thrj (ioo-foot level, and It will probably be extended later to much greater depth, as there is no sign of the ore disappearing on this level. The average gold content of all ore mined In October, according to the report of Manager J. R. Flnlay, was 2.01 ounces per ton. and the total to-tal value is given at $11.91 per ton, the not profit Icing $27.71 per ton. Of the value contained In the ore, 92.12 per cent was extracted by the company's mill. Tests Indicate that about $2 51 per ton was lost In tailings, tail-ings, but for the character of oro tho net recovery is highly satisfactory. Administrative and general expenses are averaging around $20,0n0 monthly, month-ly, and In October the company paid the sum of $18.0(10 for bullion tax and marketing high-grade ore, $21,000; transiortatlon. $3,000; milling and cy-anldlng, cy-anldlng, $C2.S50, marketing concentrate concen-trate residues, $13.u80, and new construction, con-struction, $C0,O00; total costs amount-inc; amount-inc; to if 11.27 per ton. It will be understood that this property prop-erty consists of five mines in one, the workings of all being connected at some point, and there arc upwards of forty miles of underground workings work-ings on the properties Manager Fin lay states that the appearance of the mine throughout Is exceedingly good and that the amount of advance in tho new headings in October was 1.019 feet, the ore taken from the new work in the Combination and Clermont, Cler-mont, respectively, aggregating 2.15 and 3.2S ounces gold per ton. The total development done by the company com-pany for the fiscal year ending with October was 4I.9T8 feet, not including includ-ing that done by lessees. Within this period the total of dry tons mined ' was 20C.SC7 tons, so that the develop-I develop-I ment has averaged one foot for every 6 1-3 tons mined. "Some other new ore was discover ed In, the course of stoplng." says the report, "but not on main levels. Tho discovery In the Combination is probably prob-ably far more Important than the figures would indicate, for Its points to an ore body lying parallel to tho Hampton stope. The ore body discovered dis-covered recently on the 1000-foot level of the Clermont is only partially developed. de-veloped. It appears to be large, of good grade and of good milling qualities. qual-ities. "It will be noted that expenses are thjs month, largely on account of construction, of which a large amount has been going on since Apill. Heretofore Here-tofore arbitrary amounts cf these expenses ex-penses have been charged off each i month with a view of getting rid of the whole account by the end of the fiscal year, but no xact estimate was made." With the end of tho construction campaign so nearly in sfght as it is now, a more accurate ac-curate estimate Is possible. In view of the large earnings for October, It seems best to write off the wholo balance which we place at about SfiO.ooo. There will remain r.ome payments, pay-ments, perh ft ph to the extent of $10.-000. $10.-000. to complete all undertakings, but these bills will not be paid fo;- some time and cannot properly bo charged to this fiscal year." Since this report was prepared it is stated upon good aatborlty that a con-tinued con-tinued Improvement In the appearance, of new workings anj results of do- ! velopmcnt on the deepest levels ha! taken place. The ore bod exposed on Iho 100 foot level of the Clermont Is of large proportions and contaln.3 quanllties or high-grade of the character charac-ter lately shipped lo the s:nelters. An important feature of this d.srovety is Hie quality of the ore. which is found to be particularly desirable for milling, containing les of minerals, which would render It refractory than much of Hie product from other pans of the mints Ore taken from the upper levels of the Combination during dur-ing the past few months has been of excellent grade and recent results of development at depth in this mim? are of the first importance, indicating that this is one of the best of tho groups embraced in Consolidated territory. ter-ritory. The recently enlarged shaft of tho Florence Goldfield company is now be. Ing sunk with tho aid of machine drills, starting from its former depth of 530 feet, and wll eventually be sent to the 100-foot level. Stations equipped equip-ped with large ore bins and skip pockets, pock-ets, will be Installed at frequent Intervals In-tervals and within a short time laterals later-als will be extended from the shaft to explore several ore shoots which have yielded a large product Ion on upped levels. This promises a new era of production from tho Florence, which has been treating ore of comparatively com-paratively low grade for many months during the time in which thft old lease workings were being denuded of all paying material. In order that they might later be back-filled with waste and abandoned, thus eliminating eliminat-ing the expense of maintaining costly cost-ly timbering. With a daily production and treatment treat-ment of 50 tons of good milling ore. the Combination Fraction is now nnk-Ing nnk-Ing a casicfactory profit for the bcale oi operations and despite the heavy expence- under whltfi the company has been for a long time for develop-nent, develop-nent, mill repairs and the installation installa-tion of an adequate water supply system, sys-tem, J ts treasury is In good condition and it gives cood promise of again enterinc the list of dividend paying mines in the early part of next vear. The leased L'o-stamp mill Is making a good and econlmlca recovery of Rold, its transportation facilities have been Improved, tho ore bories, particularly on the 500-foot level, are or large size and excellent promise, and the hoisting, drilling and compressor com-pressor plants will have the benefit of an extension of the Consolidated company's greatly Improved power line, shortngc and electric regulating plants. GOLDFIELD CON. GREATjWEIlT! Goldfield, Nev., CI As Indicated by the earlier estimates, the production produc-tion and earnings of the Consolldat-: Consolldat-: ed Mines company In October were j considerably greater than during elth-1 elth-1 or of several preceding months, the gross production attaining the aggregate aggre-gate of $1,069.0-18. and the net profits being $714,127, after paying all costs and writing off the sum of $U0 ooo for new construction. As evidence of I tho company's ability to maintain an output of largo proportions and to supplement Its bullion production by shipments of high grade ore to the smelters, the company shipped in October Oc-tober 293 dry tons of smelting ore, tho returns from which were $24S -6';5 gross, or an average gold tontent of over $810 per ton. The greater part of this rich ore came rrom tho workings on the 1000-foot level of the Clermont mine, the deepest mine working of the Consolidated company. com-pany. The Mohawk and Clermont mines continue to supply the greater part of the output, while the Red Top and Combination mines maintain their usual heavy tonnage production, nnd within a short time the recently extended ex-tended Itguua workings, from which tho great Red Top vein is being explored ex-plored on the COO-foot level, will be an important avenue of production |
