Show YOUNG PUGILIST IS EXONERATED PHILADELPHIA. Dec. 20. "A prize lighter takes Iho same chances of death as a football player when he Altera a content," said Coroner Ford today when he discharged John Kalme, a young pugilist, from custody and exonerated him from all blame in the death of John Emhoff, whose skull was fractured In a bout at the Nonpareil Nonpa-reil Athletic club last Friday night. The bout which ended fatally was between Emhoff. who Is better known as "Kid" Gardner, an.l Kalme, better known as Johnny Kaln. In the fifth round, when both vera apparently on even terms, Kalme struck Emhoff a straight arm blow on the jaw. Emhoff fell and hla head struck the floor. He was carried from the ring, and after repeated attempts to revive him were made, he was hurried hur-ried tn a hospital, where he died the next day. |
