Twenty-throe states participated in the division of tho money3 received from tho salc3 of public lands during tho last year, according to figures given out at the general land office today. Tho total amount received from tho public land sales totaled approximately approximate-ly $12,198,400, of which .5,257,695 was placed in tho United States treasury as tho net proceeds of tho sales; $G,678,S54 went to tho crodit of tho reclamation fund, and $26L911 was turned over to tho states as tholr share of tho proooeds. Only 16 states participated in tho divisions for tho reclamation funds. Those states receiving r.o funds on this account have no reclamation projects pro-jects within their borders. North Dakota leads with the largest larg-est amount turned Into the treasury, $788,971; ranks first in tho amount received by the states, $39,11$, but takes third place in the amount given to tho credit of tho reclamation fund, $882,711. South Dakota Is second In all the divisions.
