Wis., missing, tbe cities of the United States of 25,0i0 and over have an aggregate ag-gregate population of 7,00,8.1. This announcement Is made in a recapitulation re-capitulation bulletin Issued today by the census bureau. Forty-seven of tho cities contain nore than lOO.Ooo and of this number num-ber eleven have riven into the 100. UJ0 class since the census of 19m). 'lbere has beeu a much larger growth in tho cities below loO.OOO than in those above, tho percentage for the former being 3'JA, as against 31.S for the latter. Portland and Seattle wilt be aided to the class of larger cities. In 10")0 Portland had 00,42?iind SeaUle-SO.-671, so that there will be at least I'J cities in these containing more than 100,000 each. |
