Had Toner's support been somewhat stronger It 13 probable that Ogden would have wou the game. "Dad" Glmlin eioctrlfied the grand p.tand with a brilliant catch in the last half of the seeuth Inning. The ball was a sky-scraper which headed for center field but Dad was there first j and "made good" much to tho enjoyment enjoy-ment of the local fans. Secretary Sanderson, in commenting comment-ing on the game, said: "Its too bad thut Ogden bad to lose the first game but our defeat was due largely to the fact that the Murray ites have boon practicing about six weeks and our hoys have bad no opportunity on account of tho races which have been held at the ball park for the last two weeks. Our I numerous and costly errors lost the I game for us, which 01 course were due largely to lack of practice Toner is a dandy and will "make good" I am sure. We play the Occidentals next Saturday and Murray again next Sunday. Sun-day. I trust that we may redeem ourselves our-selves on that occasion." |
