Show CACHE OF A GANG ! OF COUNTERFEITERS . Yonkers. X. Y., April 9. Secret service ser-vice men, who have been at work in this section for some week8 past., have unearthed a rich counterfeiter's cache on a farm near Highlands, N. Y. The j stuff, which was found buried several feet beneath the surface of an old I . .i.i. imArw (nrlur1rsi oaver.il (t-(;ruiuic mvj"..., ....... thousand sheets of paper, in which the silk threads of the government paper are cleverly imitated, a dozen boxes of blue and red inks, an oldprinting ress and enough cartridges t- destro a small army. Tho plates used by the counterfeiters have not yet been recovered re-covered and the search for them will be continued. The material is a part of the outfit used by the Lupo gang of Italian coiners, coin-ers, who were recently convicted in New York and sentenced from 13 to 30 years in prison. Rumors that confederates con-federates of the counterfeiters were about to resume operations with tho plates and material stored away by Lupo and his men were responsible for the activity of the secret service agents. |
