Lewis of the district dis-trict court. He was convicted a month ago of foriug the nuine of A. M. Darlholdi to a certificate of do-posit do-posit at the bank, while paying filer, aud thus obtaining about .1,20"'. Judge Lewis grunted a stay of execution exe-cution and the cave will bo appealed to the supreme court by O. W. Powers, Pow-ers, attorney for Brown. Meanwhile, llrown Is at liberty under a bond for $2,.rjfH1 which ha-s been on file for two yeurs. Young Brown, when I ide Lewis passed s-entenee, neetned to take little interest in the proceedings ind said nothing. In speaking for Brown, Attorney At-torney Powers pointed out the peculiar mental state of the young man and said he was rather to be pitied than censured. He asked the court for leniency. |
