Show INVITE ROGSEVELT TO OGDEN. Theodore Roosevelt will die of ennui if, after his return, there are no new worlds to conquer. As did Alexander of old, he will weep because of the absence of new adventure, if some form of diversion di-version is not provided. Three years ago he journeyed to Colorado on a hunting expedition. ex-pedition. He was informed that he could find bear tracks in the neighborhood of Colorado Springs. He found the tracks, but the bears, with one or two exceptions, had migrated at about the time Pike's Peak was drawing the Argonauts from over the world long prior to the war of the blood stained bridles of Governor Waite. Mr. Roosevelt is coming West this fall. We suggest that he be invited to extend his journey in order to explore the jungles on the head-waters of Ogden river, where not less than twenty beautiful specimens of bear were brought down by the rifles of local hunters late last fall. On Sunday a bear and her cub were found in the canyon back of The Hermitage, almost at the mouth of Ogden canyon. If Theodore Roosevelt continues to be possessed of a love for the wild, after his return from Africa, a bear hunt in the mountains back of Ogden should appeal to him The famous hunter should be persuaded, per-suaded, when ho reaches Cheyenne during Frontier week, to explore the haunts of bruin in this region. He could be guaranteed a de-ligbtful de-ligbtful experience and a rich reward in trophies of the hunt. |
