Show SNOW AND FREEZING Drop in Temperature Has Destroyed Fruit . in Many States Kansas City. April 23. A snowstorm, snow-storm, remarkable for the season of the year, prevailed this morning throughout Mississippi, Arkansas, east- ern Kansas, Tennessee, and as I'ur south as Montgomery, Ala. The snow P'elted almost as fast as It fell, but ot times the fall was heavy. In Oklanoma. western and south l Kansas, and the greater part of Te.v- I as. the woather was clear. Temperatures ranging from two to I three degrees below freezing to three ! degrees above freezing were reported f.om allipolnts In Kansas, Missouri an" northern Oklahoma Frost was reported re-ported from points as far sonth as northern Louisiana. A freezing tem-pc-ature prevtiled at Memphis and killing frosts were reported from western west-ern Kansas poluts. Reports from central Missouri indicate in-dicate that the fruit crop has bvn seriously damage. Tbe general opinion among Kausas Cltj frul growers is that the fruit crop lu eastern Kansas and western Missouri have not yet been seriously Injured The low tem-peraturcs have been accompanied by clouds Snow fell also In eastern Iowa In Nebraska the weather was clear but , freezing temperatures were reported from all parts of the state. |
