Show CONDITIONS GOOD AT ELY Cleve Chllds, traveling representative representa-tive for local wholesale houses In Ogden has returned to Ogden from an extended trip through Nevada. To a representative of thla paper Mr. Chllds gave the following Interview on Ely: "Tho mining district of Ely,. Indicates In-dicates a very favorable outlook for the camp and the mines and smelter surrounding It. Just at present times are somewhat quiet the same as in all parts of the west but relatively and considering the fact that it Is a mining min-ing district solely the Indications are very flattering. "At the smelter every unit of the concentrator and all other departments depart-ments of the works are running In full blast nnd a force of three thousand thous-and men are employed. A large handsome court house and city hall have lately been erected In Ely. also many big warehouses In different parts of the district. A brewery, brew-ery, a credit to a larger city, has just been completed and many beautiful permanent residences have . been constructed or are in the course of erection which Is giving to the district dis-trict permanency and enjoyable living. liv-ing. "The ore bodies are beginning to be opened up both from the surface and at depth and the per cent is now running seven per cent for copper "It has been reported from reliable sources that the Tonopah and Tidewater Tide-water Railway has been granted a concession from the Nevada Northern railwav whereby the latter company's lines will be used from Klmbc-rly to East Ely. This assures the district of a road Trom the Goldfivld section and will give the smaller companies an opportunity to ship their ores to customs smeltors. Frcsent indications in fact point to an advancement for the camp equal to and above Us past progress, but It will undoubtedly from now on be a good steady substantial growth. |
