Last evening several of the young people of the First. Methodist Episcopal Episco-pal church met at the homo of Mr. P.. E. Newton, 2225 Washington avenuo av-enuo and organed a Bible claas, electing the following officers: O. W. Broder, president. Miss M. L. Boulger, vice president Miss Edna Mlddlcton. secretary. Harold Trousdale, treasurer. Homer A. Slop, teacher. The officers and members of this class are very enthusiastic in regard to Its growth and expect to have seventy-five names enrolled before many I weeks Besides Its Instructive feature, fea-ture, it will have a nodal side, it being be-ing decided at this meeting to have a social onco a month. Also a cabinet meeting once a month, and a cordial Invitation will le extended to all the young people in Ogdon who do not attend any Sunday school to become members of this class. After adjournment of this meeting, refreshments were served by Mrs. Newton and a pleasant hour was spent socially. 1910 CLUB. Members of the 1910 Sewing club were guests of Mrs. R. J. Smith at her pleasant home on Lincoln avenue yesterday afternoon. Sewing, music and a pleasant social hour weie followed by the serving of dainty refreshments by Mrs. L. B. Best, after which the club adjourned to meet ngain In two weeks at the home of Miss Lorlnne Farley. The club members present were bers. following which a committee was appointed to Investigate the possibility pos-sibility of establishing a home for dependent de-pendent children. The ladies named to serve as the committee were Mrs. P. T. Wright Mrs. Thomas D. Dee and Mrs. S. S Smith. . At the social hour refreshments were charmingly served by Mrs. Browning, assisted by her daughters and Miss Florence Browning. The club then adjourned to meet with Mrs. Thomas D. Dee February ISth, MISSION SOCIETY. The Woman's Missionary society of the Methodist church was very" pleasantly pleas-antly entertained by Mrs. Agnes Clancy Clan-cy on Thuisday afternoon. The society Is taking up the study of India, using "Lux Christl" as a text book. Very Interesting and instructive in-structive papers wcie given by Mrs. Wherry and Mrs. Rushmer. Mrs. Mlddlcton led In a map talk. Mrs. Can gave "Mandelay" and "Pagett, M. P.," from Kipling, and Mrs. Weath-erby Weath-erby read a couple of selections from Arnold's "Light of Asia." Dainty re-j re-j freshment6 were served. THEATER PARTY. Mr. and Mrs Ralph E. Bristol will entertain at a box party at the new Ogden theater tonight in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Otis X. Dunham of Bismarck, Bis-marck, North Dakota. The guests will be Dr. and Mrs.. George A Dickson, Miss Ruth Mlnogue and Mr. Harold C. Day. Mrs. M. A. Collinson of Salt Lake Is visiting Mrs. T. F. Potter of Twenty-seventh street for about len days. Miss Mlnuie Bandley of Trovo Is visiting friends in Ogden. Mrs. Gertrude Packard of Spring ville is a guest of friends in Ogden. Mr. Seerey Is a local member of the National Forest service, holding the position as export lumberman In the silviculture department, and his bride Is one of Ogden's most accomplished young ladles. , BIRTHDAY PARTY. The birthday party given in the baptist church parlors by the What-1-Can society, last evening, proved to tc a most pronounced success. An entertaining program was given and a general good tlmo, followed by tne serving of refreshments by the charming charm-ing young hostesses rounded out a really delightful evening. Nearly 1.10 guests were present and the What-I Can girls very ably demonstrated demon-strated their ability to enjoyably entertain en-tertain a large party of guests, both eld and young, leaving nothing more to be desired in the way of pleasure and comfort during the evening. Many pretty compliments wore ex-I ex-I tended to the young entertainers. The church parlors were artistically artistical-ly decorated, the tables In tho dining din-ing room presenting an original and decidedly pretty effect. Manson and Mrs. D. J. Malone were the hostesses at a beautifully beau-tifully appointed luncheon, Thursday afternoon, ut which sixty guests were entertained, among the number being several ladies prominent in Salt Lake society circles. The affair was one of the most elaborate elab-orate given this season. The dining room was exquisitely decorated. The table, arranged In the form of a cross, w ith a large cut glass punch bowl, filled fill-ed with violets and draped with violet vio-let tulle, placed at the intersection of the cross, violets artistically sprinkled over the cloth, the rut glass, silver and dainty china, mado, under th) soft lights, a charming picture. Cute little place cards, Inscribed with topics top-ics for the guessing contest, or "bright savings," afforded a pleasaut diversion, Mre. H. E. Van Honsen of Salt Lake City winning the souvenir in the guessing contest and Mrs. J. S. Ix'wls the guest prize. Mrs. Manson'B apartments, decor- ated with carnations and tastefully ' arranged, with shades drawn and 11rrs turned on, presented a most brilliant and .lovely scene as tho j handsomely gowned ladies assembled. Father Cushnahan officiating and Miss Bessie Byrne, charmingly attired at-tired in light green broadcloth, doing the honors as bridesmaid, with Martin O'Toolc pcrving as best man. The bride was lovely In a beautiful pah- blue broadcloth and the groom wore the conventional black.
