Show OFFICE TO CLOSE AT NOON BOARD OF EDUCATION CHANGES THE SATURDAY HOURS. Two Members of Board Are Out of the City and Important Business I Deferred. The plans for the erection of a new school house at the corner of Inllan avenue and Twenty-third street was not coiihldered by the board of education edu-cation at its meeting last night, be cause both Mr. Wiilllams and Mr. ringreo of the board were not present. The gentlement are out of the city on business. The report of the finance committee commit-tee showed that there is -cash on hand in tho treasury amounting to 410.872 17. Dr. Coulter of the sanitary committee commit-tee reported that five new cases ot" scarlet fever and three of smallpox had been reported among the school children since the last report waa dade. The report of receipts and disbursements dis-bursements for the month ending January Jan-uary 30th was made by the treaa- urer. as follows: Receipt I54.411.2S Disbursement; . 9,215.78 Balance on hand $38,195 50 j Monthly claims, amounting to $801. were considered and allowed, and warrants war-rants ordered issued for the several amounts. Esllmates on the uew high school building' amounting to $2.5uo v ere also considered and allowed, and ordered paid. The board decided that the office of the board of education. shoulJ close I at 12 o'clock every Saturday. |
