Feb. 21st, of urae- mlc poisoning, after finishing a week's I engagement at a local theater of that city. , ' Clay Clement was born in El Paso, 111.. In 1S63. He attended the University Uni-versity of Chicago and, after graduating, gradua-ting, read law in thu city, after which he studied in a dramatic school in London, and made bis first appearance appear-ance on the staee in 1881. His most notable productions were "The New Dominion," "A Southern Gentleman" and "Ping Pong." His last appearance was as the "Drain Man" In "Tho Servant Ser-vant In the House." Clay Clement's only son, Claudius Olgcr, known In Salt Lake City as Clay Clement. Jr, was a favorite member mem-ber of the WUIard Mack Stock company com-pany lost spring. He arrived In Ogden Og-den from the east yesterday to visit Ogden relatives. Clay Clement, Sr., has a cousin living liv-ing In this city, Mr. Solomon F. Gel-gor, Gel-gor, who with his family reside at 2040 Jefferson avenue. |
