Show PERPLEXING PROBLEM FOR LOGAN PEOPLE It appears that Logan Is laboring just now under, a very perplexing problem. Last year the United States congress made an appropriation for the erection of a federal building there and the money for the structure struc-ture is forthcoming but a recent Inspection In-spection by Building Inspector Shipley Ship-ley of the post office department of the ground upon which the building is to bo placed has thrown a sort of bomb shell into the ranks of the Logan people. Logan has no sewer system and' the inspector says "no tower, no postofflce." The Inspector Inspect-or had other things to say about the condition of affairs in the Cache valley val-ley metropolis, particularly regarding the sewerage question. This Is what he paid : ""1 -should think the public health vould demand such an Improvement, but certainly we cannot think of erecting erect-ing a structure upon waterlogged, fciound, such as you have at tho site of the proposed federal building. The ground Is a good deal like a sponges 'vhen the water is squeezed out of It there is not much left of it, and if we erected heavy walls and then later you should put In a 6ewer system, which would .drain all of the water out of tho ground the building would be pretty apt to settle, and we don't want to take that risk." |
