The routine rou-tine of Jury examination was resumed today In the trial of Patrick Calhoun and there were few departures from the monotonous repetition of Inter, rogations thnt havo grown familiar through constant usage during the last month, with tho session shortened because of the entrance of a new venire, the attorneys today succeeded In disposing of twenty talesmen, none of whom were able to qualify, although three were discharged upon challenge oer the objections of the dereiiBe. When court adjourned the defence had signified Its readiness to accept Ferdinand A. Habor, a retired wine dealer, who was passed to try Abraham Abra-ham Ruef in the case of ' extortion from French restaurant proprietors, wherein Ruef plead guilty. The talesmen tales-men expressed a belief that he could consider the case fairly and was confident con-fident that he realized the Importance of his duties as a Juror. The trial will be resumed tomorrow, when the effort to fill the two vacant places In the jury box will be continued. |
