Show INSPECTING THE STATE SCHOOLS MEMBERS OF BOARD OF TRUSTEES TRUS-TEES AND LEGISLATURE Visit School For Deaf and Blind Are Heartily in Accord With Management Man-agement of institution. The state school for the deaf and blind was lsited yesterday by mem-j mem-j bers of the board of trustees and j members of tho state legislature, the j purpose being to inspect the schools I and learn something of the methods in-vogue there. They were cordially received by the superintendent, Prof. F. M. Driggs, and the expressions from tholr ! lips as they left the institution indicated indi-cated that a favorable report regarding regard-ing the operation of .the school would be made, if a report should be called for by the state solons. Tho visiting party was made up of the following persons: Vice president of the board of trustees of the school, I. L. Clark, and State Representatives Harvey P. Randall of Ogden. T. P. Dyrlng of Sanpete county, Edward Beardly of Salt Lako, B. II. Bower of Utah county. Hyrum A. Nelson of Emery Em-ery county, and Martin Jensen of Sevier Se-vier county. It has formerly been the rule for the legislature to visit state institutions institu-tions in a body, but the rule Is being , deviated from this year because is has been found that such a large attendance attend-ance of visitors can not well be accommodated ac-commodated in a body, hence the legislative leg-islative visitors now come In squnds. , The visitors yesterday were well pleased with conditions at the deaf and blind school, all being free to express ex-press themselves heartily in accord with the management that is being enforced. |
