Matters looking tocthe better protection of the sheep and' cattle on the public ranges or Utah were taken at a meeting of a number of prominent sheepmen and cattlemen with members of the senate sen-ate committee on forests and forestry and the house committee on livestock, at the offices of the Utah' Woolgrowers Woolgrow-ers in' the Judge building, Friday evening. even-ing. I To this will be added an expected ap- proprlatlon by the state and a like ! appropriation by the national govern-j govern-j ment, thereby increasing the total j amount of the fund to $50,000. th j interest from which will be used for the payment of bounties on predatory animals killed by citizens of the state. It Is suggested that this bounty shall amount to 52. 50 for coyotes, bob-cats and lynx, and $10 for" wolves, bears and mountain Hon. The matter vlll be taken up at once by the committees, com-mittees, and it is hoped that proper laws will be enacted which will free, to a great extent, the ranchers and herdsmen of the state from the depredations depre-dations of wild anlmaU. There were present: J. H. Secly, vice-president of the Utah Woolgrowers Woolgrow-ers and chairman of the senate committee com-mittee on forests and forestry; R. W. Sevy of the committee; John N. Henrle, chairman of the house committee com-mittee on livestock; Representatives A. F. . Haycock and John M. Mur-dock, Mur-dock, and the following prominent sheep and cattlemen: C. B. Stewart of Salt Lake City, secretary or the Utah Woolgrowers; A. W. Crane of Herri-man. Herri-man. Mr. Benson of Tooele county, Ben T. Brown of Wayne county. Freeman Free-man Blgby, A. A.
