Show THINK MICKEL ARRESTED. San Pete Man Wanted for Murder In Mountains Fifteen Years Ago, Held In Arizona. Ephraim. April 23. Sheriff Knudeen of San Pete county left Tuesday morning morn-ing for Tucbon, Ariz., where Jim Mick-el Mick-el is held by the officers. For fifteen yeare Mickel and Kofford, both of Spring City, havo been wanted for the murder of Sheriff Burns, which occurred occur-red In the mountains cast 'of Spring City. Nothing has been heard of these men since they made their escape through the mountains into Castle valley val-ley after the shooting affair. The officers of-ficers near Tucson have been closely watching this man, who they thought was on his way from Uaho to Mexico. He answered all descriptions of the man whom tho officers have been looking look-ing for. He is held In custody until the sheriff of Sanpete county arrives. Kofford and Mlckel were In the mountains moun-tains with some sheep and It was claimed were marking some which belonged be-longed to Scott Brune of Moroni. The sheep were all In a corral, having been marked shortly before. The sheriff at once discovered what was being done and immediately commenced to drive the sheep out. The trouble arose, when he was catching the last lamb. He told them that ho now had the sheep and the next he asked was for them to go with him. They at once commenced to shoot and fired Beveral bullets Into the sheriff's body, Instantly Instant-ly killing him. Mlckel was wounded but not seriously He and his companion compan-ion rode to Orangcville, where Mlck-el's Mlck-el's wounds were dressed by Dr. Moore. They rode out of town with many men on their trail, but made their escape Tho man who is arrested has all the scars that Mlckel had and It Is thought there can be no mistake about him not being the man Mlckel. |
