Two gentlemen of leisure, giving their residence as in the allev, and their occupation as nil. were effectively effective-ly disposed of by the municipal Judgo this morning, the remainder of the docket being brief, owing to the sensational sensa-tional deeIopment of a case of smallpox small-pox in the jail and the temporary quarantine quar-antine of a number of prisoners. B. T. Withers and A. E. Lehman were the individuals first mentioned and the charge of vagrancy against them drew forth a plea of guilty from each. One of them, conspicuous In pink' tie and 6hlrt, a not overly fresh collar, and a pair of eyes that denoted a. bad night passed in the bastlle, claimed that he had a wife and child in San Francisco. He had admitted to the officers that he had been sustained by a woman of the underworld and was promptly, sentenced to sixty days on the rock pile. He pleaded for a chance to leave town, but the court listened not. The other prisoner, Captain Cap-tain Brown stated, was of the same class of parasites as the previously confessed one, and he. also, was sentenced sen-tenced to serve sixty days In Jail. P.' L. Roberta and Antone Burters forfeited $5.00 each for leaving their teams untied on the streets. Kid Allen, the local quench-mixer who disported himself a week ago at the Oxford bar. by shooting a hole through Mr. Paulson's hat, was arrested arrest-ed on complaint of Officer Cooncy, the charge being disturbing the peace.
