Show AMERICANS CONVICTED OF MURDER RELEASED. Chihuahua. Mex., May 21. Tho supreme su-preme court today ordered the release of Ole E. Finstand and "Shorty" Coughener, two Americans convicted of the murder of Charles McMurray and Robert Rutherford, tho latter a wealthy Philadelphlan. McMurray was tho brother-in-law of Finstand. McMurray and Rutherford were killed at the ranch in Chihuahua. Coughener was badly wounded at the l same time. Finstand and Coughener claimed that the crimes wore committed commit-ted by Mexican bandits, but the Mexican Mex-ican courts convicted the two Americana Ameri-cana and ecntenced them to Imprisonment Imprison-ment in tho penitentiary at Chihuahua for twelve and a half years. The supreme su-preme court today reversed the case and dismissed the charges. Finstand is a wealthy citizen of Los Angeles, Cal., and made a fortune in the Klondike. |
