A staff correspondent of the Associated As-sociated Press, returned to Nairobi this morning after a two-day visit at tho Roosevelt camp as the guest or Mr. Roosevelt. The camp was located on the Heat-iRFy Heat-iRFy ranch," bh'the banks" of Che' Nairobi Nairo-bi river. Mr. Roosevelt and his son Kermit. arc in remarkably good health, aiid they are delighted with the sue-J cess of their expedition. The accuracy of the rifle tire of Mr. Roosevelt and his son, has astonished, not only the settlers, but the members of the party. Kermit killed recently at close range a hyena that hai attacked at-tacked him. and he has also come near making a record bag of female wart hogs in a given space of time. Today the party Is staying at the Heatley ranch, but tomorrow Mr. Roosevelt, his son and Edmund Heller are coming into Nairobi. Major Mearns and J. Al-lcn Loring will remain at the Juja ranch until Wednesday collecting birds and mammals. mam-mals. Mr. Roosevelt is annoyed at certain cer-tain special dispatches which, it is reported re-ported here, are appearing in American Ameri-can or English newspapers. He requests re-quests the Associated Press to send out the following statement: "No newspaper has a representative with the party nor any other means or paining information of the-party's doings do-ings beyond what Is generally known. Any special dispatcher appearing are, in all human probability, sheer inventions. inven-tions. Moreover, the details which purport to be thus obtained, can only be due to bribery, and it is safe to slate that a-dishonorable man giving a bribe and a dishonorable man accepting accept-ing the same, would be willing to invent in-vent untruths for money or traffic in other forms of dishonor." |
