Show FOURSTATE FAIR BAND CONTEST ! RULES VHICH ARE TO GOVERN j IN THE RIVALRY. Bands Must Be Made Up of Amateurs j Country Musicians Arc to I Have a Chance. I The Four-Stale Fair has decided to give an amateur brass hand musical contest. Only bona fide amateur bands can participate in this contest. Any band having a musician who makes an exclusive fixing from the profession will be excluded. Also such brass bands as have extraordinary opportunity op-portunity for practice, such as the brass band of the Ogdcn High school and Weher Stako academy, or other institutions of learning will bo barred bar-red There is one exception tie Deaf and Blind should they be able to get up a brass band from the State. School tor the Doaf and Blind, they will be admitted. The object Is to make this contest a cojtest of country bands or such amateur bands who hae no better opportunity to practice than the bra?s bands of the country usually have. Sixty dollars in cash will "be paid to the winners of the contest; $-10 to the second best players, and $20 for the third best players. No charge will be made as entrance fee to the contest, and all members, or actual players, of bands entering the contest, will be admitted free to the Fair grounds each day while the contest is in progress. pro-gress. Each band entering the contest con-test will be required to put up $10 as a guarantee that it -will appear on tho grounds and enter the contest This $10 will be returned to the band If It appears in the contest. Or some responsible person may write a letter guaranteeing to pay the forfeit If the band docs not appear and play in the contest. Each band "will be permitted to select se-lect its own music or tho Fair asso-. asso-. ciation may furnish at least one selection se-lection a certain number of days before be-fore the contest begins. In addition to the cash prizes, each member of the winning band will receive re-ceive a gold medal, describing the contest: con-test: and the second best players will receive a silver medal describing the contest with the name of each player j engraved or stamped on the medal. |
