WOMEN ARE TO HAVE A MASS' MEETING. Ogden club women are to hold a mass meeting in Weber academy lecture lec-ture hall on Monday afternoon next, for the purpose of hearing charges against tho management of the State Industrial school. Rumors have been circulated over the state to the effect that great brutality is practiced at the school, that corporal punishment Is administered, that loose morals prevail because of liberties allowed girls and boys, that there is disorganization disorgan-ization and a general break down in the management. We would suggest to the women that both tides be heard and that Superintendent Superin-tendent H. II. Thomas be given an opportunity of replying to whatever charges may be made. The meeting should approach this question wlta open mindedness, so that there will ba no prejudging. As a purely inquisitorial inquisitor-ial body they s-hould commence their Investigations and later, if the charges seem to justify, the women should demand proof much after the manner of Judicial proceedings. .The verdict of the women will have a tremendous influence in convincing the people of the state, and, therefore, the conclusions reached should be |
