Show The Changing Missouri. The flood ha6 been kind to one town. For years Missouri City, about 16 miles east of Kansas City, in Clay county, has been off the river map and the steamboats couldn't get within miles of it because of a change In the channel. But recently tho high water began to flow through an old channel and in a few days it had cut go deep and bo fast that Missouri City awoke tbe other morning to find itself it-self on the main channel of the river, A few hours later the steamer Chester passed the old landing and Missouri City's cup of joy was full. Because of the change' of channel the boat line company will now take freight and passengers from Missouri City. Kansas City Star. |
