Show UTILIZING THE RIVER FOR POWER. When the special train to Park City BtoppeJ at the site of the new power plant being constructed by tho Utah ( Light & Railway company on the Weber We-ber River, at Devil's Gate, those who so desired were escorted through what is the largest reinforced sections of concrete pipe In the world. This pipe Is from 6 feet 4 inches to 7 feet 1 Inch In . diameter, and was constructed in sections of 120 feet each for a distance of 2,000 feet by the J. P. O'Neill Construction Con-struction company of Ogdeu of which J. P. O'Neill Is manager. Through this pipe will flow the Weber We-ber river. With a fall of 170 feet In 9,000 feet, 2,000 to 3,000 horse power will foe generated. The cost of the dam, pipe line and power stAtlon is estimated at $300,-000. $300,-000. Though It will cost less than one-fifth of that of the power plant In Ogden canyon, it will produce as much power, which is evidence of' the progress prog-ress that has been made in construction construc-tion of water power electric plants wfthln the last thirteen years. |
