Show ASPEL MADSEN WIN8 ORATORICAL CONTEST i Lchi Boy Is First, Salt Lake Boy Sec- ond, and Springville Girl Third. Salt Lako. April 6. Aspel Madsen, representing the Lehl high school, won first place in the state high school oratorical contest held under the auspice of the University of Utah m the assembly hall at the state Institution In-stitution Monday evening. The winner win-ner was presented with a gold medal, appropriately Inscribed with hl6 name, the year, ana nature of the contest. Socond place went to Warren Stratton of the Salt Lake high school, and the judges gave honorable mention to Miss Mao Burt from the Springville high school. An original paper on "Municipal Reform" was tho subject taken by the winner of the content. The manuscript manu-script was good and the delivery elicited elic-ited the praise of the Judges for simplicity, sim-plicity, earnestness and Individuality. |
