Show BLASTS KILL THREE ; SHAKE MANY TOWNS JOPLIN, MoT Oct. 4 Three men wore killod ln two explosions at tho powder plant of the General Explosives Ex-plosives company, elpht miles northwest north-west of Joplln. at 12.40 o'clock this morning. A gelatine mix house was first to explode Flames from this build Ini; sot fire to a nltro-glycerlne tank which also exploded. Both explosions explo-sions were terrific and nhook buildings build-ings ln towns for miles around. About half of the window lights In buildings and houses at Carlj? Junction, three miles from tho plant, were reported shattered. Tho blasts lit up the sky and the glare could be seen for many miles ln a'l directions.
