Hi w:is arrested at an early hou Sunda morning when he backed his automobile In a circle on Washington avenue in front of the Howell building build-ing up on tho sidewalk and within two feet of the plate glass windows. Vlth him at tho time In the nr were two companions, A. Burton and C, Williamson The arresting officers were A J. Gab- and H H. Butler. The police testified that Russell was Intoxicated while driving tho car. Ttcssell testified n.s did his two companions that his reverse gear got i Stuck and that he was unable to get Ihe car out of gear; that It was parked at an angle of 45 degrees and swung around In a circle and up on the sidewalk beforo he could get If out of gear and that when it climbed the curb he was thrown up Into the top of the car which dazed him and made him stagger when he got out of the car. no |
