I MEANS MORE JOBSi Hundreds of Cars of Shells Will Be Transported and Unloaded. ; Approximately $300,000 will be available under a recent appropriation bill for tho transportation of shells from eastern points to Ogden arsenal, according to Information received Saturday by Jeso S. Richards, secretary secre-tary of the Ogden chamber of commerce com-merce from United States Senator Reed Smoot. i These figures were released to Sen- I ator Smoot by the war department at j Washington and Indications are thai immediate shipments of ammunition to the Ogden arponal will be started. It was later decided to ship the ammunition by boat to the j Panama canal from the east, and thence to San Francisco. Under these j arrangemi its the ammunition would ' have been shipped to Ogden by rail j from San Francisco. These plans fail- ed to mature and efforts to move the ' ammunition were cancelled |
