Roberts this morning and was fined $20 or the alternative of 20 days In Jail. Tho defendant told the court that ho had been in the bakery business in Ogden but five weeks and that during that time it had been practically impossible for him to obtain the proper wrappers, wrap-pers, that the law to the best of his kn.OWedge had not been enforced and i thai ho was not Informed that It was uolng to. be enforced. After hearing the argument on the demurrer in the case of the city ugainst C. Zaharlas and Edwurd Wilson, Wil-son, negroes, charged with a mlyde-ineanor. mlyde-ineanor. City Judge D. R. Roberta look the case under advisement. The attorney for the defense urgued that the city had no right under the state law to pass Jtn ordinance under which the case was being prosecuted. |
