A lone bandit entered the prem- ises of the Utah Savings and Trust company a few minutes before banking hours today, I compelled the paying teller to hand him over about $4500 and shot at the cashier, who f attempted to intercept him as ft he escaped. The robber hand- j ed a note to the teller which I stated I "Dont say a word or I'll j plug you. Hand over the cur- j rency. I'll shoot to kill." The teller shouted to the cashier a moment after paying the j money to stop the man, ex-laiming ex-laiming "Stop that man; he'b a holdup! " The cashier in- i ;tinctively dropped to his j knees as the robber fired on his way out of the institution W ord of the robbery was received in Ogden by the po-lice po-lice and sheriff at 11:15a. m.. and immediately officers were l dispatched to search all trains from the south. Police officers were also as signed to the stations and officers of-ficers in automobiles were sen' 'south along the highways to head off the bandit in case he was attempting to escape this way in an automobile. |
