Senator Hiram Johnson's plurality in the presidential preference primary in Michigan April 5 was 4 1,373, according accord-ing to official figures announced by the state canvassing board today. Herbert Her-bert Hoover, whoso name appeared on both Republican and Democratic ballots, won the Democratic endorsement endorse-ment by 5,334. William G. McAdoo taking third place. The official figures announced by the canvassing board are: Republican: Senator Johnson 156,-330; 156,-330; Major-General Leonard Wood, 1X2. 5C6; Governor Frank O. Lowden, .of IUinoia, C2,ilS; Herbert Iloovor, 52,503; General Pershing. 17,971; William G. Simpson, Detroit, 3.S57; Senator Poindcxler, 2.CG2. Democratic: Herbert Hoover. 23,-9 23,-9 85; William G. McAdoo, 1S.G41; William J. Bryan. 17,910; Governor Edward I. Edwards, of New Jersey, 10,623; Attorney-General Palmer, 11,-1S 11,-1S ; scattering. 380. On tho Socialist ticket Eugene V. Debs received 5,310 votes. The canvassing board's tabulation j showed that Senator Johnson carried j but 27 counties, while "Wood carried 53. Three went to Governor Lowden. |
