Show APPLIES FOR WRIT AGAINST BOND ISSUE SALT LAKE, June 3. Peter E. Van Orden of Cache county applied in the supreme court yesterday for a writ of prohibition against the disposition of a $400,000 bond issuo recently au-ii thorized by the voters of Cache county for school purposes. The petition sets forth that the board of education held an election on February 17, 1920, when 77S votes were cast in favor of tho boud issue of $500,000, and 227 against; that the board is now about to issue the bonds and to levy a tax upon all the property prop-erty in the school district. Incudlng that owned by tho petitioner; that he has demanded that they desist from this proceeding, but that his protest Is without aval. Mr. Van Orden asks the court to issue is-sue a writ of prohibition restraining tho board from disposing of the bond issue, alleging the election was illegal; illeg-al; that the polls were not held open according to law. Various other causes are assigned. The board of education waived issuance is-suance of an altGrnatlvo writ and also service which would indicate that tho action was friendly. The case will be heard on Juno 10. on |
