I 103 degrees to 105 degroes. a high l fever; 105 degrees to 106 degrees a I very high, extremely dangerous rever. j In taking the tomparature the follow - Ing directions should be observed: Place 'bulb of mercury In the patients pa-tients mouth under the tongue for five minutes If It registers over 101 degrees, send for physician and keep the patient in bed until he arrives. See that the thermometer registers less than 9" degrees before using. This may be brought about by shaking It. Grasp the thermometer at the middle mid-dle between the Index finger and the thumb of the right hand, hold the bulb downward and hit tho lower I edge of the right hand against the upper up-per edge of the left hand; the column of mercury will be lowered by tho shock The normal respirations occur at tho rate of 18 to the minute. In disease di-sease there are marked variations In tho frequency and character of the respirations.
