Show ENCOURAGING REPORT ON FARM CROPS OF IDAHO BURLBT, Ida.. July 19. Rapid growth of vegetation has resulted from the very favorable weather throughout Idaho and in the Irrigated section where moisture conditions are good, the Intense heat promoted a splendid growth ot all crops. The second crop! Is growing fast. Cultivation of corn, beans, potatoes, sugar beets and field peas made fine headway during the week. Tne w-heat harvest has begun in the earlier fields in the Lovvlston alley, but over most of the state tho crop is not so far along it is. however, woll I headed In most of the fields and prom-. Ises a heavy' yield. The weather throughout the season has been exeep-j tlonally favorable for heavy filling. Barley, rye and oats are reported in' good condition, except in Kootenai county, where oats was injured by' drying winds. It was good corn, weather, and that crop. which has' been backward on account of cool j weather, made rapid progress Potatoes Pota-toes are doing well. In the larger commercial districts they are now blooming. Sugar beets are making good progress. prog-ress. Seed beets are now In bloom and their development is all that could be desired Beans and field peas made satisfactory growth. Pastures and' ranges are holding up well as a gen-1 oral rule, but in some localities the, south slopes aro dryisg. All fruits are growing fast. The cherry harvest has passed Its crest, and will soon be over. Raspberries1 are coining into the market. Apples; and prunes arc doing nicely. |
