Show com schools to REMAIN OPEN, IS DECISION Practically the entire session of the Weber county board of education meeting this morning was devoted lo a discussion of the influenza situation. H was decided by the board that the schools should continue to run unless the health conditions continue to grow steadily worse so that (he holding of school sessions become impractical. If it is deemed advisable fp close iny any community of the county, it will be only after the county physician 'and the county health officer and Su-'perintendent Su-'perintendent Fowler have decided upon the matter. "It is the contention of the board," stated Superintendent Fowler, "that school children have less danger of exposure at school than about the streets of the communities." Two county schools have thus far Jbcen closed. The one at Pleasant View is- not in operation, nor is the I Hooper school. While the former was I closed because of the acute influenza ;situntion, the Hooper school had not ionly "flu" 10 contend with, but also smallpox and diphtheria. |
