Show I y FOR BOYS AND GIRLS ' Much has been said and written lately about the activity of the Boys' If clubs and the Girls' clubs in Weber I county. The boys recently did great ( service- to the county by working so Ij -Earnestly in connection with the de- vclopment of the swine Industry. Now j they are going into the business of im-i im-i porting and raising blooded dairy cat-j cat-j He. What were the objects of Uncle 1 3am In urging- the establishment of such clubs? Here Is the answer given Jn the bulletin of the Department of Agriculture: i "The object of the boys' and girls' club work of the United States depart- ment of Agriculture and State college has always been and still Is to de- velop boys and g:rls into useful men and women of the farm and home and the industries upon which the future of the community and state depend. Growing of pigs, increasing yields of ' corn, designing of economical and attractive at-tractive clothing, and conservation of fruit and vegetables are incidental to this undertaking, Important as they I may seem. In other words, a boy'can i not develop a state champion pig with-1 out at the same time developing him- j self." nn I |
