Show CLUB Il Calendar American Yeomen. The local Brotherhood of Amepoan Yeonp n gave a delightful party in the Woodmen hall Friday evening' and a large number of the members with a few of their friends attended Tho evening's entertainment opened wl lia card party at eight o'clock and later refreshments were served. This was the first of a series of events to be given in the hall this winter. Christian Church Aid Society. Members of the Christian Church Aid society met at the home of Mrs Leinen last Wednesday afternoon and. following the regular church business, at which the ladies arranged for their ; annual Harvest Home dinner to b? given November 20, a social hour v.;(s enjoyed when refreshments were served. An interesting verbal report was 'given by superintendent of prison reform re-form work, and other superintendents I reported in regard to flower mission land press literature. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Mnv, of Los Angeles, served refreshments. Happy Hour Club. Members of the Happy Hour club were the guests of Mrs P. H Mul-cahy Mul-cahy at her lovely home on Madllson avenue last Saturday afternoon. The early hours were spent in needlework and social chat and Mrs. Ben H Tjrree delighted Ihe guests w ith several oorl (selections At 5 o'clock Mrs Mulcghy Berved a most delicious luncheon Covers were laid for eleven members I of the club and Mrs. Jack Fisher as a guest for the afternoon The dlnmg table was cleverly decorated with a basket of fruit as tho center piece. While at each guest's plate was a daintily dain-tily designed miniature fruit basket filied with almonds and tied with j bronze ribbon. - Throughout the rooms vases of bronze chrysanthemums were 'prettily placed. I Tin- club's next meeting will be held I at the home of Mrs G. W. Shaker at Iher home on Twenty-third street. Sat-1 urday afternoon, October 25. Red Cross Canteen. This morning at 10 30 o'clock the Red Cross canteen of Ogden formally discontinued Its work after one of th! most splendid careers of any canteen j in the United States. The ladies of Ogden have made a wonderful record and their efforts for the benefit of pu-manity pu-manity will not cease in the closing: of tho canteen at the depot. The Ladies' Aid Society of the j Methodist Episcopal church met i Thursday in an all-day session wt'h' Mrs Gertrude Carr Work was done' , for the annual holiday bazaar, which Is 'to be held on December 5 and 6. The' Ladies' Aid society is planning to make! this an outstanding event and, in Spite ot the high cost of living, the public I will be given a chance to eat a real) chicken dinner.
