Show Cleveland Street Car Strike Settled; Service Resumed CLEVELAND. O., July 8 Street car service was resumed here early toda for the first time since Sunday morning morn-ing when 2600 employes of the Cleveland Cleve-land Railway company went on Btlike. Settlement was reached after a four hour meeting last night of city officials, offi-cials, officials of the street car company com-pany and members of the carmen's union. The employes' demand for an increase in wages from 43 cents an hour the first three months of service, j36 cents the nine months and -ix months thereafter to F5, 58 and 60 cents, respectively were granted and President J. J. Stanli j agreed to submit sub-mit to arbitration the company's demand de-mand for an increase in stockholders' dividends from six per cent to even per cent. |
