Show ADVICE OF PRESIDENT. Roossvelt Message to Extra Session Will Deal With Reciprocity. The president has practically completed com-pleted his measago of presentation to the extra session of congress. 11 deals entirely with reciprocity and the Cuban Cu-ban treaty. It Is understood that the president goes quite extensively Into reciprocity as a gonoral principle, and Its possibility to correct tho acknowledged acknowl-edged evils of tho prosent tariff. As to tho ratification of the Cuban treaty. Senator Ilurrows, who lod tho fight against It two years ago, when It was defeated, now aaserta that he believes there Is no great amount of opposition to the Idea, and he says that he thinks the treaty Is going to be acted favorably upon. The senator, however. Is of the opinion that more opposition could be expected from the plantera of !.oulalana and the beet auger men of the east. Ileprosentatlve William Allen Al-len Smith, who led the sugar forces In tho Inst fight, however, haa assorted assort-ed that the beet sugar men do not Intend In-tend to put up any opposition, all of which would Indicate that reciprocity I soes to bo much In evidence at the extra session. |
