Show II GETTING WATER AND PROVIDING DRAINAGE. With energy and ability, the local committee laboring to provide the country around Ogden with an ample water supply, is developing plans which, within the next few days, are expected to offer the promise that no longer will water shortage or drouth threaten the crops of this district. With water storage, the related problem or drainage is being solved, nd through storage and drainage, Weber county and adjoining ter-itory ter-itory should bring under cultivation 50,000 additional acres. Large grain elevators and flour mills are being erected, but those enterprises are not of greater benefit to this community than the reclaiming re-claiming of large areas to the north, west and south of Ogden. The placing under water and the redeeming of 50,000 acres of rich soil should bring to us a new farming population of approximately 10,000. On the 50,000 acres now farmed there are more than that numher of people. |
