Show W. A. RARR1AN IN OGDEN FOR SHORT VISIT W. A. Harriman, vice president of the Union Pacific system, was an Og- J den visitor for a short time this morning. morn-ing. While here he was questioned as to general railroad conditions in the countrv and as to the coal situation and its eftect on the railroad system with which he Is connected. In speaking speak-ing of general business conditions on lhe Union Pacific he stated that In his hurried 'rip to the west, he noted that j conditions w ere neer better. Stating J that the trip was one of pleasure and 'that he and thore with hhn had heen hunting and fishing in northern Idaho he gald he had had little to do with conditions in a business way and I that therefore he was unprepared to make any statements. I When asked what he thought of the ,coal situation he was also non-com Piittal. merely stating that the roads were well supplied at the present time Mr Harriman t special train arrived from the north and was attached to the Union Pacific eastbound tn'.in He is returning to Now York. His wife and several railroad officials were with him |
