Show ATHLETIC STABS ARE ON THEIR WAYTO THE EAST Charles Brickley, one of the world's greatest football stars, noted from Maine to California as one of the classiest half-backs that ever donned the togs, passed through Ogden en route to the east, when- he will coach one of three college teams during the coming season. Brickley played on the famous Harvard Har-vard championship aggregation a few years ago and, together with Eddie Mahan, made one of the classiest pair of halfbacks that ever represented tho Crimson in action. During his famous days at Harvard, he was noted as a line plunger, and was regarded as one of the best punters punt-ers in the history of tho sporL In one game, played between Harvard and Yale a few years ago. the famous star scored a 3 to 0 victory over Yale by sending the ball between the goal posts for a score, after making a perfect per-fect place kick from the f3-yard line. His performance on that day equalled the .American record. Brickley (although heavier than when in school, looks the picture of health and is Just returning to the east after spending a number of months In tho Pacific Leroy Campbell, former national halfback champion of America during the 1913 and 1916 seasons and rated as one of the best middle distance runners ever developed in the Big Ten conference, accompanied the star grid player on his trip Campbell holds the half-mile record for the colleges of the Missouri valley, his time being 1 minute min-ute and 53 seconds.
