Show I PEOPLE WITH BABIES. Editor Standard . One of Ogcjen's good citizens has been looking, look-ing, for a house to live in the past two months but, having a small baby boy of 14 months, is unable to rent a house. It seems a shame that people who have houses to rent refuse to rent to parents who have children. I wonder if these people, who have houses to rent, were ever babies. If. in a few years, another war comes, who is going to fight for these peopu- who refuse to shelter the babies If Ogden would be a little more accommodating it would be a bigger city. Where would the free people of the world be today, if it vere not for the boys who once were babies? We would be under the rule of Kaicer Bill today. (Signed) OGDEN CITIZEN. It is wrong to discriminate against babies, and some solution of the problem of housing them should be found. Landlords of apartment houses object to the little ones because they cry, and when the young- sters grow out of the crying period they arc rejected because they are destructive. The day will come when the state will be expected to require fair treatment of childhood. The proper thing is to make it possible fc all families to have their own homes. Home is the foundation of society and until all parents are placed in possession of homes, the world will go on having its violent outbreaks out-breaks that come from discontent. |
