It was the best celebration that has been here for a long time. About 200 people came down from Park City on the excursion ex-cursion in the mornlug and spent the day In the city park. The meeting at the Stake Tabernacle was largely attend-ded, attend-ded, the big building Iwlng filled to III capacity. Following is the program that wai rendered ; P. C. Chorus" Summit Stake Choir Benediction Chaplain Everyone on the program took their ; parts well ; the singing and speaking I being very appropriate lor the occasion. Toe building was neatly decorated with flags, bunting, potted plants, etc., and looked beautiful. One of the important decoration! wai the scroll containing the name! of the 143 pioneers, which wss painted by Thomas Bullock. The buckskia coat and cap which be wore were also in evidence. These are owned by G. Y. Itullock. In the afternoon the people gathered in the city park, where a lively game of base ball was played between the Coalville Coal-ville boyi and a team from Park City. The first five inning! of the game were fine, not a run being make on either lide. Several error! by both teatm let the rum pile np and at the close of the game th score stood 10 to 10 In favor of the Park boyi. Next came the foot racei, which furnished fur-nished considerable amusement. Chester Ches-ter Malin won the 100 yaid dasb. 1 1 one races were run on the court bouie hill, end Will Smith'! animal won the prize in the tree lor all race. About 7:30 the iiiecial train pulled in Irom Park City bringing about 300 people lor the dance, which wai held in the park pavilion. The large hall wai parse I and not hal( the crowd cou'd dance at once. The music by the orchestra orches-tra waa fine, and considering the dust everybody seemed to have a good time. Our visitors Irom the Park seemed to greatly enjoy themselves. The day was nice and pleasant and no accideut occurred occur-red to mar the pleasure. |
