Cal., April 19 Thirteen Utah men, members of the third officers' training school, have been notified that thee have been recommended for commission.. The men are H. C rummings. George D. Keyser, David John, Taylor C. Chamberlain. Cham-berlain. Thomas Dahlquist, R. L. Gideon. G. F. Jensen. A. Bersjo, S. P. Lowe, H. C Candland, Herman R. Vote. John C. Landreau and A. V. Sconberg. Tonteht tho men were notified that the would be dismissed tomorrow and given a ten-day furlough. fur-lough. They will then be returned to the regiment as sergeants, and as vacancies occur will be given their commissions. Milton R. Ridges, former member of E battery', was notified that he had p ed in the infantry school. t'olonel Richard W. Young, who will receive his promotion to brigadier general gen-eral within a few days, will probably be assigned as commander of the Sixty-fifth brigade, of which the Utah regiment is a part. This was learned here today with the arrival of information infor-mation that Colonel Young had been recommended for the position, and plans are already being made for him to assume command of the brigade. The assignment, however, will not be made until his promotion is ap- : proved by the senate. This is expected expect-ed the latter part of this week. It was also learned definitely loda thai Lieutenant Colonel William C. Webb has been recommended for promotion pro-motion to colonel with assignment to the Utah regiment. |
