Show ERRONEOUS DEATH NOTICES DANGEROUS PEKING, Nov. 30. (Correspondence) (Correspond-ence) Erroneous death announcements announce-ments are extremely dangerous in China. The Jih Pao, one of the leading lead-ing daily papers printed In Chinese in Peking, was completely wrecked because be-cause of an announcement it printed of the death of General Chiang Kuei-ti of Jehol. General Chiang was not dead, and thirty of his soldiers who happened to be in Peking, visited the newspaper office and demolished it completely, charging that the paper had endeavored endeavor-ed to ruin the political career of their leader. The soldiers smashed tho premises, pied all the type, broke the windows and demolished the ofBco furniture. |
