SALT, LAKE, Dec. 12 Salt Lake theatre mananrors bv unanimous vote have agreed to exclude children under fourteen years of age from local moving mov-ing picture show houses until the public pub-lic schools open. This action was taken tak-en last night at a meeting held in the office of Chief of Police J. Parley White. Forty-eight new cases of influenza were reported to the city board of health yesterday and four deaths. Tho following deaths were reported: report-ed: Alin Miller. 2 1-2 vears of age, 359 West Third North street, Mrs. Merle Snow Woods, 31 years of age, 252 Canyon road; Harry Unruh, 50 years of age, local hospital; Fanny Ardell Chalk. 1019 Garfield avenue. One thousand persons were inoculated inocu-lated at the city emergency hospital and various substations yesterday. Two new cases of influenza were reported re-ported from the isolation hospital at Fort Douglas yesterday. There were no deaths and no new pneumonia cases there. Murray, Granger. Delta and American Ameri-can Fork requested nurse3 from the Red Cross yesterday. A nurse and orderly or-derly were sent to Delta. Health authorities au-thorities agree that a continued 5m-j provement Is to be noted In the situation sit-uation locally and throughout the state.' Yesterday Dr. Beatty met with principals prin-cipals of the public schools for a discussion dis-cussion of the Influenza situation. At the conclusion of the meeting tho teachers adopts! .a plan for tho policing polic-ing of the city oy themselves for the discovery of new cases and for violators vio-lators of tho quarantine regulations. Following the meeting the principals princi-pals remained in session discusslns ways and means of undertaking the work asked of the teaching force. A I committee was finally appointed to work out a definite plan. A telegram was received from Dr. Samuel P. Paul of the city board of health by doctors at the city health department yosterda)-, in which he says that his visit to Chicago has convinced con-vinced him Uiat the Rosenow serum is deserving of full praise as a preventive pre-ventive of influenza. Dr. Paul said that he has visited with Dr. Rosenow and had examined numerous records of the efficiency of the vaccine in the east. |
